Mexico’s stunning coasts are lined with some of the best all-inclusive resorts in the world – and that means some seriously good all-inclusive dining. But these restaurants in Mexico will make you want to step outside your all-inclusive resort for a meal that will last a lifetime.

La Leche

Puerto Vallarta

This unique, milk-themed restaurant & bar mixes a fun, vibrant edge with fine dining. And milk-themed was not a typo, hence the name La Leche. Inside, you’ll feel like you’re in a milk carton itself, with a milk-white interior throughout the entire place. Even the natural water comes in eco-friendly milk cartons. Chef Alfonso Cadena offers a unique gastronomic experience with fun menu changes that could range from seafood pasta, duck, oysters, pork ribs, to sashimi dishes, all delicious reinterpretations of culinary traditions.

They also have a cool upstairs lounge set in a private atmosphere with personalized service, perfect for an after-dinner or pre-dinner drink.

Tulum

Hartwood

Tulum

If you’re in the Playa del Carmen or Cancun area, you’ll want to make the trip out to Hartwood Tulum. This off-the-beaten-path culinary gem features a daily-changing menu based on what’s fresh, utilizing local ingredients and sustainable cooking techniques all in a comfortable outdoor setting. Everything is cooked by open fire within a handmade wood burning oven and grill. Sustainable fishing methods also make this restaurant the ideal spot for some fresh seafood.

Tacos

Taqueria Rossy

San José del Cabo

We all dream about that authentic taco spot in Mexico where the ingredients are incredibly fresh and the atmosphere is as authentic as it gets. This is the place. Though it might not look like much on the outside, it’s the real deal.

Locals love this spot as much as visitors, and it’s obvious why. The food is just out of this world, and the tacos are unique and delicious. Take your pick, from shrimp, BBQ beef, chicken, scallop, to smoked marlin, the tacos will hit the spot. Grab your choice and fill it up at the salsa bar featuring a range of condiments. Reasonably priced, and outstandingly fresh, visitors also rave about the quesadillas, ceviche, and other seafood specialties. Plus, they have a cocktail menu, so you can pair your meal with a tequila-based drink.

Quesadillas

Du Mexique by Sonya Grimond

Cancun

For an intimate, foodie dream-come-true outside of the Hotel Zone, try snagging one of the seven tables at Du Mexique. Combining the fine dining techniques of French cuisine and fresh, local, delectable Mexican ingredients, owner Sonya Grimond and chef Benjamin Ferra create a fusion feast that bursts with flavor.

Call way in advance and get your reservation; it has great demand and obviously fills up fast. Located in the heart of downtown Cancun, it features imaginative dishes in a unique setting that is both romantic and elegant, with an extensive wine list to pair perfectly with the dishes for the evening. It’s an intriguing place to enjoy a meal outside of your vibrant resort.

Ceviche

As good as the food will be at your resort, plan a night out and try some local bites in unique and authentic atmospheres that immerse you in the regions of Mexico through distinctive flavors and cultures.
